An exploration of color theories and connections between the 2D and 3D
These projects stem from the exploration of color theory through hue echo, vibration, the absorption of colors, and other dynamic concepts as they related bringing our two dimensional concepts to life while imagining how one would interact within the space. Colors compliment and contrast others in many instances, all while creating cohesive designs to understand the visual effects of colors and their combinations.
Artichoke to Abstract
This project began using an image found in nature to create a unique pattern that would not otherwise be discovered in such a common object. The decision to use an artichoke stemmed from its organic, natural form that provided such distinct shapes, allowing a strong pattern to be developed.
After the two dimensional pattern was created, it was laser cut and transformed into the three dimensional, following up with hand cutting the fine details and layering pieces to create depth within the pattern.
